Creative Isolation mode

Christian Iannello-Tovar
2020 undoubtedly will be one to remember. We’ll remember the times we were scrambling for toilet role in the supermarkets, the times we hadn’t had a hair cut in months and personal appearance didn’t matter anymore and the times we all became sports enthusiast and yoga practitioners. I like to look at the world through different perspectives; yes we are currently stuck indoors and not able to see our loved ones. However we have been given the opportunity that doesn’t come around often and unlikely to happen again. We have been given a breeding ground for creations, business ideas and self development with no distractions nor places or events to be distracted by we should use this time ensure we come out of lockdown having gained or built something we’ve always wanted to do but never had time for.
Remember all those online courses you signed up for weeks ago or the goal you set yourself to learn French at the start of the year, you now have no excuses. The furthest you might travel is to supermarket or to the park and that that will be your outings for the week. The internet is a great place to start. Think back to our parent’s era or our grandparents apart from the fact education and technology has improved vastly we now have an endless stream of information at our fingertips! In my personal experience most of my graphic design knowledge and techniques can be awarded to YouTube and videos and lessons I took on skill share.
If you’re planning to build a business or brand it’s a perfect time to build an online presence. Social media usage during the pandemic has seen a worldwide rise of 45%, people are consuming content faster and more often than before. Share your work on platforms such as Twitter and Instagram. Engage with your followers, share a tip or two! Social media will help you engage with potential customers finding out what they like and dislike but also allows you to have a following of people who are actively seeking what you offer.
Don’t forget to stay inspired, you may be ready to tear your hair out or strangle your partner and kids; remember it could be worse, we will get through this. Allow your mind to relax and discover new things, many of my friends have discovered a passion for cooking or exercise a skill they will take forward with them after the pandemic. Lastly step outside your comfort zone! I can’t stress the importance of it. If you want to continually improve yourself you need try new things. Once you move out of your comfort zone, you immediately prove to yourself that you’re capable of achieving more than you thought was possible, changing the way you see yourself. It will open give you a greater confidence in anything you do from that day onwards.

Personally I have used this time to create this blog and website you are currently reading. I want to welcome you to my store and my journey as a brand. Stay safe! Christian
